A tense exchange between the two stars on This Morning has recently resurfaced.
A resurfaced clip of a tense exchange between Gino D’Acampo and Phillip Schofield on This Morning has gained attention amid allegations against the celebrity chef.
According to ITV News, dozens of people have accused D’Acampo of “inappropriate and intimidating behavior.”
Production staff who worked with him over more than 12 years have described their experiences as “unacceptable,” “distressing,” and “horrendous.”
D’Acampo has firmly denied the allegations. However, ITV has decided to shelve ten episodes of Family Fortunes featuring him as host, which were set to air this spring.
The publication reported that the series, filmed in 2023, is not currently scheduled for broadcast, and ITV has no plans to work with Gino D’Acampo in the future.
D’Acampo has responded to the allegations in a statement to ITV News.
D’Acampo addressed the allegations in a statement to ITV News, saying:
“I have been told by ITN News that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago.”
“I have never been made aware of these matters previously, and I firmly deny the allegations. I would never do anything to intentionally upset or distress anyone, this is simply not in my nature. I do not recognize the version of events being put to me.”
“Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, but I have also been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and commissioned for prime-time programs during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.”
“I am a father, a husband, and have worked with over 1,500 people across nearly 80 productions in my career, something I have always been proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously, and the suggestion that I have acted improperly is deeply upsetting.”
Amid the controversy, a resurfaced clip from This Morning has been circulating online, highlighting an awkward moment between D’Acampo, who has been a regular on the show since 2009, and former host Phillip Schofield.
In a 2013 episode, D’Acampo is seen cooking alongside Schofield, 62, and Holly Willoughby, 43, before making a sexual joke.
As they each prepared a component of the dish, Schofield stirred a sauce and remarked, “We don’t want tense meat.”
Agreeing, D’Acampo responded, “We don’t want that because tense meat becomes tough meat, right?”
Schofield then added, “Tense meat is a friend to no one,” prompting D’Acampo to make a crude joke.
The chef quipped, “No, seriously, tense meat becomes tough meat. That’s why you should never annoy your wife before you make love. You want her to be nice and soft.”

The joke didn’t seem to land well with the This Morning hosts. Willoughby looked around awkwardly, while Schofield immediately responded to D’Acampo’s remark.
“Now you’ve gone too far,” Schofield said disapprovingly. “That’s too far. That’s a step too far.”
As D’Acampo began to defend himself, Schofield quickly steered the conversation away, interjecting with, “Do you need salt and pepper in this?”
This wasn’t the only time D’Acampo made a controversial remark involving Schofield. After the presenter stepped down from This Morning following his admission of an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague, D’Acampo took another jab at him on the show.
