My Husband Left Me for His Boss While I Was Pregnant, Then She Made a Horrifying Offer

Seven months pregnant with twins, my life was flipped upside down in an instant, all thanks to a single message.

I had been sitting in the nursery, folding little onesies, my fingers lingering on the soft fabric as I imagined my two girls, growing inside me. My phone buzzed, interrupting the quiet moment, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the name: Veronica, Eric’s boss. Why was she texting me? My stomach clenched as I opened the message.

It was a picture.

Eric, my husband, sprawled on a strange bed, his shirt off, smirking at the camera like everything was normal. But it wasn’t just the picture that made my blood run cold, it was the caption.

“It’s time you knew. He’s mine.”

My entire world shattered in that moment. Eric, the man I loved, the man I had planned a life with, was cheating on me. And with her.

I immediately tried to call him, over and over, but each time it went straight to voicemail. My hands trembled as the babies kicked inside me, their little movements only heightening the storm of emotions rushing through me.

I sank onto the couch, holding my belly, trying to calm myself. “It’s okay, babies. Mama’s got this,” I whispered, but the truth was, I didn’t know what to do.

That evening, Eric came home, but he wasn’t alone.

Veronica walked in behind him, wearing a tight smile and heels that clicked sharply against the floor. She walked like she owned the place, and the sight of her made my stomach turn.

I stood, forcing my legs to hold me up. “Eric… what is this?”

He sighed, rubbing his face as if he was the one who was exhausted. “Lauren, let’s not make this complicated. I’m in love with Veronica. I’m leaving you.”

His words hit me like a physical blow. “You can’t be serious,” I whispered, my voice shaky. “We’re having babies in two months.”

He shrugged nonchalantly. “Life happens.”

Life happens? Like it was just another inconvenience.

Veronica smirked, crossing her arms and inspecting me. “You’re having twins, right? Well, you’ll need to leave by the end of the week. This is Eric’s apartment.”

I felt my chest tighten. I had nowhere to go. No family nearby, no friends who could take me in. All I had was this life, and now it was crumbling before my eyes.

Before I could speak, Veronica’s voice cut through the silence. “I think I can offer you a solution.”

A solution? My heart raced. I had no idea where this was going.

She smiled, like she was offering me a deal. “I’ll buy you a house, cover your expenses. But in exchange… I want one of your babies.”

My blood ran cold. “What did you just say?”

Her smile was all business. “You’ll never manage raising twins on your own. I’d like to have a child, but I’m not ruining my body for it. So, think of this as a win-win.”

My stomach lurched. She was talking about trading my child as if it was some kind of transaction.

Eric just stood there, nodding along like it was a perfectly reasonable offer. My entire body trembled with rage.

Veronica ran a hand over Eric’s chest. “Your child will have the best nannies, the best schools, everything you can’t provide. And in return, you get a house. A fair trade.”

I forced myself to take a deep breath, then let the tears fall. I looked down, acting small, vulnerable. “I don’t have anywhere else to go,” I whispered. “I’ll agree to your deal… but I have one condition.”

She raised an eyebrow. “What’s your condition?”

I sniffled, acting hesitant, even though my mind was already spinning. “I get to choose which baby you take.”

Veronica exchanged a glance with Eric. He nodded, and she smiled. “Fine. But don’t take too long. Once they’re born, we’ll take the one you don’t want.”

I wiped a tear away. “And… one more thing. You’ll buy me a house. Not rent. Buy.”

Veronica looked at me with mild amusement. “You’re smart. Fine. But you better hold up your end of the deal.”

I nodded, playing the helpless woman to perfection.

Inside, I was smiling. They had no idea what was coming.

Over the next few months, Veronica bought me a three-bedroom house in a quiet neighborhood. She never even asked to see the paperwork.

I kept up the charade, letting her think I was agonizing over which baby to give up. Meanwhile, I was gathering all the evidence of their betrayal, messages, pictures, everything.

The day the twins were born, two perfect little girls, I knew it was time to put my plan into action.

I named them Lily and Emma. And I wasn’t giving either of them up.

After a few days in the hospital, I called Veronica. “I’m ready to talk.”

She came over immediately, practically vibrating with excitement. “So,” she said eagerly. “Which one is mine?”

I stood up, my body sore from the delivery, but my voice was steady. “Neither.”

Her smile froze. “Excuse me?”

I met her eyes. “I’m not giving you my child. Either of them.”

Eric groaned. “Oh, don’t start with this dramatic nonsense.”

I scoffed. “You two thought you could buy my baby? Like I’m some kind of desperate fool? Not happening.”

Veronica’s face darkened. “Then I’m kicking you out of this house.”

I laughed. “You can’t. It’s mine.”

Her face drained of color. “What? No. Eric, tell her!”

Eric looked equally confused. “We signed the papers together!”

“Yes, but you both signed it over to me completely. My name’s the only one on the deed.”

Veronica stumbled back, realizing she had lost.

And I wasn’t finished yet.

I pulled out my phone and casually glanced at it. “By the way, I posted everything. The messages, the pictures, your little baby deal. It’s all online. And I tagged your company too, Veronica.”

She lunged for my phone, scrolling frantically.

Her career? Gone.

Eric? Fired.

And me? I was sitting in my new home, rocking my girls to sleep every night, knowing I didn’t just get revenge, I won.
