A Nervous Dinner and a Blame-It-on-the-Dog Moment

A woman was invited to her boyfriend’s parents’ house for dinner, her first time meeting them. Naturally, she was anxious, hoping to make a good impression. As they all sat down to enjoy a delicious homemade meal, she began to feel some discomfort. The combination of nerves and a generous serving of broccoli casserole was working against her.

As the pressure in her stomach built up, she decided to let out a small, quiet release, hoping no one would notice. It wasn’t exactly silent, though, and everyone at the table heard the faint pouf. Just as her face began to flush with embarrassment, her boyfriend’s father glanced down at the family dog lounging by her feet and said sharply, “Skippy!”

Relieved beyond belief, the woman smiled. “That was close,” she thought. A few minutes later, the pressure returned, stronger this time. Feeling a bit more confident, she let it go, longer and louder. Again, the father snapped at the dog, “Skippy, cut it out!”

Now she was really feeling bold. When the next round of gas hit her, she didn’t hold back at all. What came out sounded more like a foghorn than a fart. Without missing a beat, her boyfriend’s father scowled at the dog and shouted, “Skippy, move away from her before she drops something on you!”
