Pregnancy was supposed to be a joyful time, but for me, it quickly turned into a nightmare. From the moment I told Alex I was expecting, everything changed. His warmth vanished, replaced by coldness and cruelty.
I still remember one exhausting night, feeling sick and barely holding it together. Alex came home late, his strong cologne filling the room. Instead of comfort, I got a harsh sneer.
“You’re just getting bigger and lazier,” he spat.
My heart shattered, but I kept going. “Carrying a baby isn’t easy, Alex,” I whispered.
He laughed bitterly. “Maybe if you took better care of yourself, you wouldn’t feel so awful.”
Then, eight months pregnant, I came home to a sight that froze me in place. Alex walked in with a young blonde clinging to his arm, his smug grin saying it all.
