A chilling simulation of what would happen if you were swallowed by a whale is causing many to rethink their fears.
While the likelihood of such an event is slim, a recent incident in Chile highlights that it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
Last weekend, Adrián Simancas was kayaking through the Strait of Magellan, located off Chile’s Patagonian coast, with his father Dell when disaster struck. Out of nowhere, Adrián was unexpectedly swallowed by a whale.
The terrifying moment Adrián Simancas was swallowed by a whale was captured on camera by his father, Dell. By some miracle, Adrián survived the harrowing ordeal.
Adrián admitted that for a brief moment, he thought he wouldn’t make it. “At first, I thought I had died,” he told the Associated Press. “It was terrifying because I thought, ‘No, there’s nothing I can do.'”
Recalling the incident, Adrián explained, “I saw something between blue and white pass close to my face. It was above me and on one side. I didn’t understand what was happening, then I felt like I was drowning.”
Meanwhile, a viral simulation about what would happen if you were swallowed by a whale is making waves on the internet. Created by Zack D Films, the video has left viewers stunned and, in some cases, traumatized. With over 62 million views, it continues to spark fear.
The narrator explains in the video: “If you were swallowed by a sperm whale, you’d be squeezed down its massive throat and continue through its esophagus into stomach chambers filled with digestive acids.”
The grim imagery is reinforced by the dummy used in the simulation, which has a permanently terrified expression.
The narrator goes on to describe the nightmare scenario: “These acids would begin breaking down your body. Even if you avoided the acid, the lack of air inside the whale would cause you to suffocate quickly.”
One viewer commented, “Bro, I swear this channel is unlocking all my phobias.”
“This is ACTUALLY traumatizing, not just a weird animation,” one viewer commented.
Another added, “What makes it scarier is that there’s no light, the smell, and the fact that no one would hear you if you tried to ask for help, you’d just rot there.”
Luckily, this wasn’t the case for Adrián, who was eventually spat out by the whale and towed back to safety by his father.
