A passenger who miraculously survived the Delta Airlines crash has shared his harrowing experience.
On Monday, February 17, a Delta Airlines flight carrying 76 passengers and four crew members crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada.
Upon impact with the tarmac, the aircraft flipped upside down, leaving everyone on board suspended in midair.
Although 18 people sustained injuries, all passengers and crew members survived the terrifying ordeal.
Among those on the flight from Minneapolis to Toronto was John Nelson, who has now spoken about the shocking event.

Speaking to CNN, John Nelson recounted the tense moments leading up to the crash.
“It was a typical flight from Minneapolis to Toronto,” he recalled. “As we were coming in, I noticed the winds were extremely gusty.
“The snow had blown over the runways, making conditions look unusual. The approach seemed routine, but the runway definitely appeared to be in a rough state.”
Describing the impact, John said, “When we hit, it was incredibly hard. The plane slammed into the ground, veered sideways, and then, I believe, skidded on its side before flipping over onto its back.”
Once the aircraft came to a stop, he noticed something even more alarming, a massive fireball on the left side of the plane.
John described the aftermath as “mass chaos,” especially with everyone suspended upside-down in their seats.
“We kind of let ourselves go and dropped onto the ceiling,” he said, recalling the surreal moment.
Panic quickly set in as passengers scrambled to escape. “Everyone was just yelling, ‘Get out! Get out! Get out!'” he added.
The situation became even more alarming when they realized the danger. “We could smell jet fuel. Even now, I still smell like jet fuel,” John admitted.
Fortunately, firefighters arrived almost immediately, allowing everyone to evacuate before the fire spread further.
Many have since called it a “miracle” that the plane didn’t explode and that all passengers and crew survived the terrifying ordeal.

One person on YouTube reflected on the incredible survival story, writing, “The fact this plane did not explode in flames because of the amount of jet fuel is nothing short of a miracle. Thank God all the souls on this flight survived.”
Another commenter shared similar thoughts, saying, “This was a miracle. I hope the survivors will eventually fully recover from physical and psychological injuries.”
Many also praised the emergency responders for their swift action. “Incredible there were not any fatalities,” one person wrote. “Someone give those first responders a raise, they were quick, effective, and saved lives.”
