A remarkably well-preserved fossilized dinosaur embryo, still inside its egg, has been discovered. The fossilized embryo, dating back 72 to 66 million years, belongs to an oviraptorosaur and was discovered in Ganzhou, southern China. Nicknamed “Baby Yingliang,” the embryo was named after the Chinese company that acquired the egg two decades ago. The fossil reveals the embryo curled in a distinctive posture—head tucked below the body, feet on either side, and back against the egg’s blunt end.
