Cameron Diaz has welcomed a baby boy, and her choice of baby name has sparked mixed reactions from fans.
Diaz, 51, first gained fame in 1994 with her breakout role as Tina Carlyle in the hit comedy The Mask alongside Jim Carrey. Before acting, she had a successful modeling career, which helped launch her into stardom. Over the years, Diaz became one of Hollywood’s most recognized actresses, starring in over 40 films.

Since 2014, Diaz has stepped away from the big screen to focus on family life with her husband and two children. She’s now fully embracing motherhood, but her baby name has stirred quite the conversation.
In a 2021 interview with Yahoo Finance Presents, Diaz explained that after giving her all to acting, her priorities shifted: “Now I’m here and this is the most fulfilling thing that I’ve ever done in my life. [To] have a family and be married and have our little nucleus of a family. It’s just completely the best thing.” She added that she no longer has the energy to fully commit to making movies, as all her focus is on her family.
However, fans won’t have to wait too long for her return to the screen. Diaz is set to star in Netflix’s Back in Action, an action-comedy alongside Jamie Foxx, scheduled for release on November 15 this year.

The announcement reignited rumors online, with some claiming Diaz didn’t enjoy working with Foxx and might quit acting again. Diaz addressed these rumors on Molly Sims’ Lipstick on the Rim podcast, saying, “I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time. You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’” She praised Foxx as a “cheerleader for the entire crew” and said they had “so much fun” on set.
While she acknowledged delays during filming, she declined to comment further, hinting at Foxx’s hospitalization in April 2023.
Whether this Netflix project will mark a full comeback or just a special return remains to be seen.
Diaz began dating musician Benji Madden in 2014, and the couple married in 2015. They share two children, including daughter Raddix Madden, born in 2020.

Now, the couple has welcomed a baby boy named Cardinal Madden, a name that has divided opinion online.
Some fans were critical, with comments like: “Cameron Diaz + Benji Madden = CARDINAL Madden. Name your kids whatever you want, but that’s terrible,” and “What a silly name to give a child!” Others remarked, “Only in Hollywood.”
But not all reactions were negative. Many fans love the unique name, with one writing, “Love Cardinal!! It’s a beautiful name!” and another agreeing, “Different names are in and I like it!”
Clearly, Cardinal Madden’s name has already made an impression.
