Every birth is a little miracle, but some take that magic to a whole new level.
Bethani and Tim Webb from Hythe, Alberta had always dreamed of starting a family. Just three months after tying the knot in June 2015, they got the news they’d been hoping for: Bethani was pregnant. But nothing could’ve prepared them for what they’d see at their first ultrasound.
The nurse stared at the screen, blinked, and looked again. Then came the words that changed everything: “There are four babies… and they’re identical.”
Identical quadruplets, completely natural, with no fertility treatment involved. The odds? A staggering 1 in 15 million.
“I thought the tech was joking,” Bethani told CBS News. “I couldn’t believe it. Total shock.”
In June 2016, Bethani gave birth via C-section at just 33 weeks. Abigail, McKayla, Grace, and Emily arrived healthy and strong, four perfect baby girls who instantly stole their parents’ hearts.
With no family history of multiples and no medical assistance used, the Webbs’ story quickly caught national attention. But with quadruplets came quadruple the chaos.
To tell the girls apart, Bethani and Tim had to paint their toenails different colors. And the daily routine? Intense. The babies went through 48 diapers a day, not to mention all the bottles, burp cloths, and round-the-clock feeding schedules.
Luckily, they weren’t alone. Friends, family, and kind strangers rallied around them. Volunteers came weekly to help with the girls, and a generous community fundraiser even helped them afford a larger vehicle for their suddenly not-so-small family.
“We could never do this alone,” Bethani said. “It’s been amazing to see how much support we’ve received.”
Today, the Webbs are living with Tim’s mom, who’s thrilled to be surrounded by her four granddaughters, and happy to help out whenever she can.
Even though life is a little louder, a lot busier, and sometimes overwhelming, the couple feels nothing but gratitude. Their story is a beautiful reminder that life doesn’t always follow our plans, but sometimes, it turns out even better than we imagined.
