In July 2024, a disturbing incident occurred in Ocala, Florida, involving 35-year-old Alexis von Yates, a nurse who has since lost her license. According to court documents reported by Law & Crime, Yates allegedly engaged in sexual activity with her 15-year-old stepson while he was visiting his father during a vacation. The teen’s father, a lineman who worked late hours, returned home to find his wife and son in a compromising situation, leading to a heated confrontation.
The arrest affidavit details that Yates and the teen were alone at home, as she was caring for his younger siblings. Around 11 p.m., they were using a THC cartridge, playing video games, and later decided to watch a movie. Finding the movie dull, Yates allegedly made inappropriate comments, telling the teen she was “horny.” The affidavit further states that Yates had been making sexual remarks to the teen for about a week prior. This escalated into kissing, oral sex, and unprotected intercourse.

When the teen’s father arrived home, he found his son naked under a blanket and Yates in a compromising state. A confrontation ensued, during which Yates apologized but disturbingly justified her actions by claiming the teen resembled his father in his youth. The teen, however, denied Yates’ claim that she asked him to stop, stating she encouraged him to continue. Court documents note Yates also made crude remarks, blaming her actions on sexual frustration and later rating the teen’s “performance.”
The teen overheard his father angrily confront Yates, calling her a “child predator.” He was then sent to his grandparents’ home. The next morning, Yates allegedly expressed hope that they hadn’t been caught and made further inappropriate comments about the teen’s appearance and abilities, comparing him to his father. She later claimed the teen was a “master manipulator,” a sentiment initially echoed by some family members, though his father later supported him and vowed to testify against Yates.
Yates was arrested in 2024, charged with sexual battery of a minor aged 12 to 16, and pleaded not guilty in December. She reportedly had no contact with the teen after the incident, despite his attempts to reach her via Facebook. Her nursing license was revoked as she awaits trial.
