Jason Whitaker, a Kentucky resident, recently shared on Facebook about an unexpected fire hazard linked to fluorescent spiral light bulbs.
Jason described noticing a smell resembling an electrical fire and searched his home to find the source. Eventually, he traced the odor to a fluorescent spiral light bulb, where he discovered that ladybugs had crawled into the bulb’s coils, drawn by the light and heat. Their accumulation had reached a dangerous level, nearly causing ignition.
Jason stated, “Inside the spiral coils of the light bulb was nothing but ladybugs.” His photos highlighted the potential danger, revealing how the heat from the bulb nearly ignited the accumulated insects.
