“Is That Rhinestone Depends?”: Shania Twain Sparks Debate With Daring Two-Piece Stage Outfit

When Shania Twain took the Las Vegas stage wearing a sparkling two-piece outfit, social media instantly buzzed with reactions to her flashy look.

The country-pop legend’s ensemble, part of her Come On Over residency at Planet Hollywood, sparked a wave of opinions—some even jokingly comparing her outfit to rhinestone-studded diapers.

During last week’s show, the 59-year-old donned a daring two-piece set paired with a long pink jacket and a matching cowboy hat, but not everyone was impressed by the bold style choice.
Shania Twain’s latest look on the Las Vegas stage sparked a storm of reactions across social media.

While some fans applauded her daring style, others took to TikTok and X with harsh critiques, likening the outfit to an adult diaper and questioning its suitability.

“Is that a rhinestone Depends?” one user mocked, while another joked, “I didn’t know Depends made such a sexy option.”

Criticism extended beyond the outfit itself, with some questioning whether such bold choices were fitting for her age. One TikTok user asked, “Is this midlife crisis Barbie?”

Another commenter snapped, “Why is 59-year-old Shania Twain in a nude bodysuit and diaper on stage?”
Critics likened her look to a rhinestone diaper, with some even dubbing her “Midlife Crisis Barbie.”

Despite the snarky remarks, many fans praised her for embracing her confidence and individuality.

“She’s an entertainer!! She’s 59 and rockin’ it while she still has it!!! All the power to you Shania Twain!!! Legend,” praised one devoted fan.

Another chimed in, “She looks great for 60! How many of you look like that?!”

And one more added, “So obviously, it’s just me, but I think she looks fantastic!”

Shania’s “Come On Over” residency pays tribute to her iconic 1997 album of the same name, which remains the best-selling album ever by a female solo artist, featuring hits like Man! I Feel Like a Woman! and You’re Still the One.
Supporters applauded her for embracing her individuality, with one fan declaring, “She’s 59 and rockin’ it while she still has it!”

Discussing her residency, the singer revealed that she has always taken an active role in her own styling and stage design, especially in the early days of her career.

“I just didn’t have the budget for styling, so I did it myself,” she told CBS News earlier this year.

“The wardrobe for ‘Any Man of Mine’ and ‘Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under’—I simply shopped at Target. And the denim-on-denim look, which fans now love to emulate, was just something from my own closet,” she added.

Shania’s Las Vegas residency honors her record-breaking 1997 album, Come On Over, showcasing iconic hits like “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”

During her Queen of Me tour last year, the Grammy winner revealed she chose to wear a new outfit for each show rather than doing quick changes during the performance.

“I decided that instead of doing quick changes in a show, I’ll just change every night. So every show, the fans get a different look. It’s been a lot of fun, and it keeps it all fresh for me,” she told IndyStar.

“I’m really enjoying pulling pieces out of my closet that I’ve had for years,” she told the outlet.

“Some of it is vintage haute couture, and some comes from boxes of fabrics I’ve had in storage,” she added. “I’m repurposing and reimagining many of these items on my own.”
Despite the mixed reactions, the Grammy winner remains committed to her distinctive style for her performances.
