In a heartwarming turn of events, karma came through for an honest man in New Jersey who returned a forgotten $100 bill, and then went on to win $1 million in the lottery.
The story made local headlines after the man discovered the bill left on a shop counter. Instead of pocketing the money, he chose to hand it over to the store owners, asking them to keep it safe in case the rightful owner came back.
After doing the right thing, the man bought a few lottery scratch cards, and one of them turned out to be life-changing.
“Everybody looked at me like I was nuts”
