Mom Names Twins After Oasis, And People Can’t Stop Roasting Her

A mom is facing online ridicule after sharing that she named her twin boys after her favorite band, Oasis.

Choosing baby names is a deeply personal decision influenced by many things, some parents honor loved ones, others draw inspiration from celebrities or fictional characters they admire.

This mom, however, has found herself doubting her choice after going viral for naming her twins after the Gallagher brothers from Oasis.

At first, she thought it was a sweet, meaningful tribute to the band that has inspired her throughout her life. But now, after sharing her story on Mumsnet, she’s feeling hurt by the mixed reactions and judgment from others.

She wrote, “Judged for my kids’ names?! I’ve always been a massive Oasis fan (sorry, Blur fans), and they’ve inspired me my whole life. When I found out I was having twin boys, I thought naming them after the Gallagher brothers would be amazing. But people seem to laugh and think it’s a joke!!”

Noel and Liam Gallagher, of course, are iconic figures from one of the most influential ’90s bands.

While some online commenters defended the names as fairly common, others were less kind.

One said, “Liam and Noel are actually pretty nice, mainstream names. It’s not like it’s a Ringo or something.”

Another joked, “Well, I know someone who named their twins Ronnie and Reggie, so…”

Some acknowledged that naming twins after famous siblings might seem a little unusual or funny to some, but reminded others that names always spark debate, and ultimately, what matters most is the parents’ choice.

One user summed it up: “Names are polarizing, people will always have opinions, but it doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks.”

The mom’s story highlights how baby names, no matter how heartfelt, can stir strong reactions, sometimes supportive, sometimes not.
