A City’s Forgotten Souls
Once, cats were revered in ancient Egypt, worshiped as sacred beings. But those golden days are long gone. Today, Cairo’s streets are filled with countless homeless cats, struggling to survive, ignored by the world around them.
When rescuers from How’s Paws arrived, they were struck by her trust in humans. Whether she had once been part of a family and was abandoned or had lived on the streets all her life, one thing was clear, she had not lost faith in people.
As they approached, she meowed softly, almost pleading for a second chance. She didn’t resist as they gently wrapped her in a blanket and placed her in a carrier. It was as if she knew she was finally safe.
A Fight for Survival
At the veterinary clinic, she remained calm as the team examined her, bathed her, and ran crucial tests to determine the cause of her paralysis.
Surprisingly, X-rays showed no broken bones or visible injuries, a small miracle in itself. Instead, veterinarians suspected nerve damage had left her unable to use her back legs. Whether she would ever regain mobility was uncertain, but what mattered most was that she was no longer alone.
At first, she was quiet and withdrawn, barely eating as she recovered from exhaustion. But with time, love, and the dedicated care of her rescuers, her spirit began to shine once more.
A New Beginning
Now, she is on the path to healing, surrounded by people who refuse to give up on her. While her mobility remains uncertain, one thing is clear, she will never have to face the world alone again.
