The 45-year-old singer, born Alecia Beth Moore-Hart, has been captivating audiences for nearly three decades with hits like “What About Us,” “So What,” and “Just Give Me a Reason.”

While Pink has offered various explanations for her stage name over the years, one particular theory has left many fans stunned online.
A straightforward reason often suggested is that Pink chose her name because of her hair color, which makes sense. However, there’s also a more NSFW explanation that has caught people’s attention.
Pink actually took her stage name from Steve Buscemi’s character, Mr. Pink, in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.
As she explained in a 2017 interview with iOL, Pink shared, “I’ve been getting complaints for a long time, but I’m okay with it. There’s another reason why my name is Pink, and that’s a bit inappropriate too.”
According to Pink, her best friend had never seen a white girl’s vagina before, so she showed him, and he exclaimed, “It’s pink!” Her friends then started calling her “Mr. Pink.”
Interestingly, Pink had a memorable encounter with Buscemi in 2000, just before her debut album was released. She recalled, “I ran into Steve Buscemi on the street in New York. I was wearing big Elton John-style sunglasses, had pink hair, and was carrying a Pink Panther toy. I said, ‘Steve! Mr. Pink! I’m Pink because of you! I’m going to have an album, and you’ll know who I am!'”
Buscemi, apparently startled, quickly responded, “What the f**k, lady?” and ran away. Pink admitted, “I’ve never met him since. He was scared s**tless of me. Sorry, Steve!”
After learning the surprising origin of her stage name, one fan commented, “And I thought all along it was her pink hair.”
However, this isn’t the only explanation Pink has shared over the years. During an appearance on The Rosie O’Donnell Show in 2011, she revealed a different reason for the name.
“It’s a nickname I got at YMCA,” she explained. “I used to go to camp there, and this boy I had a crush on pulled my pants down in front of everyone.”
She continued, “It’s really hard to embarrass me, so it became a mission for people. I turned pink, and everyone started saying, ‘Oh, look at her, she’s pink!'”
