Superman Trailer: Lois Lane Puts Clark Kent on the Spot

The new Superman trailer has just dropped, giving fans an exciting glimpse of James Gunn’s fresh take on DC’s iconic hero. Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, this trailer offers plenty to unpack.

In the latest preview, we see Lois Lane putting Clark Kent through a tough interview, grilling him over his actions despite the lives he’s saved and the wars he’s helped prevent. It’s a tense moment that highlights the complex relationship between the heroic Superman and the skeptical journalist.

Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor makes his presence felt, clearly unimpressed by Superman’s rise. Referring to the Kryptonian simply as an “It,” Luthor’s disdain for Earth’s strongest hero is unmistakable.

The trailer also offers a more intimate look at Clark’s upbringing in Smallville, featuring his adoptive parents Jonathan (Pruitt Taylor Vince) and Martha (Neva Howell), who guide him on his journey to becoming the Man of Steel.

Joining the cast is a host of new heroes and villains. Nathan Fillion appears as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi plays Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan stars as Metamorpho, and Isabela Merced takes on the role of Hawkgirl. The trailer also teases a mysterious new villain, The Hammer of Boravia, though the actor behind the character remains unknown.

Several of these characters, including Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner, will also feature in the second season of the Peacemaker series, starring John Cena, linking James Gunn’s wider DC universe.

Mark your calendars: Superman is set to soar into theaters on July 11, 2025, in both the U.S. and the U.K. Fans won’t have to wait long to see David Corenswet bring Kal-El to life under Gunn’s visionary direction.
