TikTok Star Joshua Blackledge Dies Suddenly at 16

Joshua Blackledge, a 16-year-old TikTok star with over one million followers, has tragically passed away.

The high school junior from West Carteret High School in North Carolina was known for his fun, energetic videos and love for trucks, particularly a white Ram that frequently featured in his content. His sudden death has left fans, friends, and family devastated.

Tributes quickly flooded social media. One fan wrote, “Death is so scary because what do you mean he will never post again? Rest in paradise.” Another shared, “This does not feel real, I’ve followed him for years. So heartbreaking.”

Blackledge’s final TikTok post was uploaded on March 14, showing him enjoying time with friends and his truck. Just days later, on March 18, he passed away at his home in Newport, North Carolina.

His girlfriend, Emmie Gillikin, has been open about her grief, sharing a heartfelt tribute on social media: “Josh showed me what love really was… he never failed to make me smile.” She also addressed online rumors, clarifying that Joshua was not bullied and that misinformation was being spread.

According to his obituary, Joshua had a deep love for the outdoors, fishing, boating, and working alongside his mom in the yard. He was also known for his vibrant spirit, love of cars and trucks, and his signature backflips that often wowed his followers.

Documents later confirmed that Joshua died by suicide. No drug-related items were found, but a teddy bear, note, and photo were discovered at the scene. His family noted he had been exhibiting behavioral changes over the past year.

Joshua is survived by his parents, Jonathan and Jackie Blackledge, and his brother, Josiah. He is remembered for his enthusiasm, kindness, and love for life, a bright young soul gone far too soon.
