Former President Donald Trump thanked El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele after a video surfaced showing hundreds of suspected criminal migrants being deported from the U.S. to El Salvador. Trump praised Bukele for his cooperation and cited the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 as the legal basis for the deportations. He also criticized Democratic leadership for enabling such situations. Among the 261 deported migrants were 137 individuals removed under the Alien Enemies Act, 101 Venezuelans, and 21 suspected MS-13 gang members.
