“‘Oh my god!’ is not what you want to hear when a nurse has her hand in your vagina,” shared Annie Charlotte, recalling the day she discovered she was “different.”
At just 16 years old, Annie was diagnosed with uterus didelphys, a rare congenital condition where a person is born with two uteruses, often referred to as a double uterus, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
The diagnosis came during a routine visit to have an intrauterine device (IUD) fitted, a procedure intended to help manage her heavy periods. For some, IUDs can lead to lighter or even absent periods.
Now 26, Annie, an OnlyFans model, has opened up about her experiences with the condition and the conversations she’s had with various clinicians over the years.
Reflecting on the nurse’s reaction during her first IUD fitting, Annie told Metro: “She said there was something in the way of her fingers and that I should go and see a gynecologist.”
Annie, who hails from Surrey, England, described the moment as mortifying. “I was absolutely horrified. The gynecologist was a man, which made me super uncomfortable, and then I was told it might mean I couldn’t have kids. I remember leaving the doctors and sitting in the car with my mum in silence because we didn’t know what to say. At 16, I just wanted to be normal, but I couldn’t have felt more different. I was so upset.”
Over the years, Annie has had several heartbreaking conversations with doctors. “One specialist gynecologist said in the most nonchalant way, ‘You’re probably going to have multiple miscarriages.’ Then another doctor told me I could be nine months pregnant and four months pregnant at the same time. The not knowing is so stressful, and I don’t want to be infertile.”
Annie shared that she doesn’t plan to have children until her mid-thirties and hopes medical advancements will make it possible for her to do so without complications.
In the meantime, she’s found a way to embrace her uniqueness. As an OnlyFans content creator, Annie reportedly earns up to five figures a month. While half of her income comes from gaming videos, her streams vary in content, sometimes she’s fully clothed, in underwear, or topless.
Annie’s journey with uterus didelphys has been anything but ordinary, but she’s using her platform to share her story and empower others. “For now, I’m putting [the idea of having kids] to the back of my mind,” she said, focusing on her career and the opportunities it brings.
