A young man from Duy Tan Ward, Kon Tum City, had a startling encounter while fishing at Plei Krong Hydroelectric Lake in Kroong Commune. He stumbled upon a bizarre creature with an eerie human-like appearance, leaving him both terrified and intrigued.
A Startling Discovery
According to the young man, in early September 2019, he spotted the strange, worm-like creature in a cassava field near the Plei Krong Hydropower Plant. The creature had three distinct parts: a head, a body, and a tail.
The head resembled that of a human, complete with two eyes, nostrils, a mouth, eye sockets, a chin, and even teeth.
The body had numerous grooves, six limbs with five curled fingers resembling human hands, and a short tail.
Its belly featured six black holes, adding to its otherworldly appearance.
“When I first saw it, I was shocked and creeped out because its body parts looked extremely unnatural. After regaining my composure, I caught it and noticed that its entire body was soft, almost as if it had no bones,” he recalled.
Captured, Then Released
The man took the creature home and kept it locked up for two days before deciding to release it back into the wild. Curious about his find, he shared a photo of it on Zalo, where many people commented that they had never seen anything like it before. Some even offered to buy the creature, but by then, it had already been set free.
Authorities Respond
Upon seeing the image, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Chairwoman of the Kroong Commune People’s Committee, admitted she had never encountered such a creature before.
“This is the first time I’ve heard of such a discovery in the area. Based on the picture, it looks like a mutated worm,” Ms. Hien stated.
The mysterious sighting has left many locals puzzled, with no clear explanation for the creature’s origins or identity.
