A mother and former adult model has lost her two-year legal battle against a Florida school district that prohibited her from volunteering.
Victoria Triece, 33, sued Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) for $1 million in 2023, alleging that Sand Lake Elementary barred her from volunteering after discovering her online content.
At the time, Triece said she felt “humiliated” and argued that her personal life was private. She sued OCPS, claiming the district violated her rights to free speech, free assembly, and privacy. The model, who has been featured in magazines like Playboy and FHM, also accused the school board of improperly sharing her photos among staff and media.
However, on January 29, Judge Brian S. Sandor ruled against her, stating that she had no legal right to volunteer at the school.
“There is no proof that her rights as a parent were violated,” the judge wrote, according to ClickOrlando.
He explained that the volunteer program did not grant anyone an automatic right to participate or contest a removal decision. The judge also pointed out that Triece never officially appealed OCPS’s decision.
Regarding privacy, he ruled that Florida’s Constitution does not provide a right to volunteer. Additionally, the court determined that the school district was legally permitted to share her images since they were obtained through a public records request.
Her claim of wrongful image distribution was dismissed, as the court found that the school’s actions were conducted for official purposes rather than to cause personal harm.
OCPS has declined to comment, citing the possibility of further legal action. Triece’s attorney, Mark NeJame, confirmed that she intends to appeal the ruling.
NeJame argued that the decision impacts not only Triece but also other parents who wish to be actively involved in their children’s education.
Triece, who has amassed over 148,000 Instagram followers and 264,000 TikTok followers, says her work provides financial stability and allows her to spend more time with her two children.
In a 2023 interview with WESH, she explained, “I started this job because I didn’t want a regular 9-to-5. I wanted to be involved in my kids’ lives.”
Triece had been a school volunteer for five years before an anonymous source sent explicit photos of her to the principal in 2021.
Principal Kathleen Phillips reported the images to her supervisor, which resulted in Triece being banned from volunteering.
Despite passing all background checks and having no criminal record, Triece argued that her profession should not define her ability to contribute to the school.
“I feel judged and isolated,” she told WESH.
