Teddi Mellencamp, wellness coach, fitness entrepreneur, and co-host of the Two Ts In A Pod podcast, has opened up about her ongoing fight with stage 4 melanoma, a journey she describes as both heartbreaking and hopeful.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who appeared on the show for three seasons, first shared her melanoma diagnosis with followers in 2022. Since then, the cancer has progressed, spreading to her brain and lungs.
“I’m fighting for my life,” Mellencamp told Us Weekly. “But also for my family’s life and all the people I love.”
In February, she revealed on social media that severe headaches led to a doctor’s visit where multiple brain tumors were discovered. Two of the tumors were surgically removed on February 12.

“I kind of thought that I had already beaten it,” she admitted in April. “And then a couple days later, I found out I had four more tumors. So there are so many different highs and lows.”
Mellencamp, who shares children with ex-husband Edwin Arroyave, said the diagnosis has reshaped her family life.
“Whether it was good news or bad news, we all just try to be there for each other and find special moments,” she said. “Laughter has been a huge part of what makes it all a little easier. I know everyone says this, but I have really good kids.”

After her brain surgery, Mellencamp made a striking public appearance at a recent cancer benefit, choosing not to wear a wig and proudly showing her surgical scars. She later shared a candid post on Instagram: “The day-to-day decision of wig versus no wig. Crying days, I tend to pick the wig,” she wrote, alongside a selfie in a full blonde wig.
“This is my first night out since I got out of the hospital,” she added. “I feel good. I know it feels really devastating right now, but everything, it gets better.”
In a hopeful update shared on Instagram, Mellencamp recently announced that all her tumors have “shrunk or disappeared” following intensive radiation and immunotherapy.
“One update I couldn’t wait to share!” she wrote in the caption. “All tumors, stage 4, metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs, shrunk or disappeared. I have six-ish more weeks of immunotherapy, and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course.”

She added: “I have two more sessions of immunotherapy, and then hopefully, I am done, and I will be cancer-free. I’m going to keep a positive outlook because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me. He’s like, ‘You did this. You got this … you got that Mellencamp blood. So, you’re good.’”
According to the American Cancer Society, stage 4 melanoma, the most advanced form of the disease, has a five-year survival rate of around 35%. Mellencamp’s message is one of persistence, hope, and honesty.
Through every setback and every small victory, she continues to show strength not only for herself, but for the many others fighting similar battles.
