Shocking footage has captured the moment Delta Airlines Flight 4819 crash-landed in Toronto on Monday (February 17) and flipped upside down.
The flight, which departed from Minneapolis, Minnesota, was attempting to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport when the incident occurred.
All 80 people onboard, 76 passengers and four crew members, were safely evacuated, officials confirmed.
However, at least 18 individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries, with three reported to be in critical condition, according to medical transport company Ornge, as reported by The Independent.
The identities of the critically injured passengers have not yet been publicly released, but reports indicate they include a child, a woman in her 40s, and a man in his 60s.
Footage of the flight’s landing in Toronto has been widely shared on Twitter, including a clip uploaded by user airmainengineer.
The video shows the plane touching down before its rear end erupts into a fireball, sending thick smoke billowing into the air.
As the aircraft skids down the runway, a trail of smoke lingers in its wake.

After watching the footage, many online have expressed amazement that everyone onboard survived.
“This must be one of the craziest things ever seen,” one person wrote, while another added, “That is insane! So glad everyone survived!”
In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said: “The NTSB is leading a team of U.S. investigators to assist the Transportation Safety Board of Canada with their investigation of today’s accident involving a Delta Air Lines Bombardier CRJ900 at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
“Per international protocols under the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Annex 13, any information about the investigation will be released by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.”
Meanwhile, Delta CEO Ed Bastian addressed the incident, stating: “The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport.
“I want to express my thanks to the many Delta and Endeavor team members and the first responders on site,” he added, as quoted by The Independent.
A recording from LiveATC.net captured a conversation between an air traffic controller and the Delta Airlines pilots before the crash. The controller instructed: “Endeavor Air 4819. Turn right heading 210. Descent to 3,000. Cleared ILS 23 approach.”
The pilot responded: “Alright heading 210. Down to 3,000. Cleared through the ILS, 23. Endeavor 4819.”
Air traffic control then issued a warning about strong winds, reporting speeds of 27 knots with gusts up to 33 knots. Despite clearing the plane to land on Runway 23, the controller cautioned that the aircraft “may get a slight bump” and that another plane would be landing ahead of it.
Shortly after, the crash occurred. A voice in the recording confirms the plane has gone down and emergency services are urgently needed.
