David Duchovny Marries Longtime Girlfriend Monique Pendleberry After Nearly 6 Years Together

David Duchovny has officially said “I do” to Monique Pendleberry after nearly six years of dating, Us Weekly confirms.

The X-Files alum, 64, and Pendleberry, 31, first sparked marriage speculation earlier this week when the couple was seen strolling through Malibu on Tuesday, May 20, both sporting what appeared to be wedding bands.

Their relationship began in 2017, but they’ve largely kept things low-key, stepping out together only occasionally over the years. Notable public sightings include a date night at a Los Angeles Lakers game in January 2024, a walk through New York City in September 2024, and the red carpet premiere of Duchovny’s Netflix film You People in 2023.

This is Duchovny’s second marriage. He was previously married to actress Téa Leoni from 1997 to 2014. The pair briefly separated in 2008 before finalizing their divorce and share two children: daughter West, 26, and son Kyd, 22.

Despite their split, Duchovny and Leoni have remained on good terms while co-parenting their kids. Leoni, now 59 and dating actor Tim Daly since 2014, praised Duchovny in a 2014 interview with Parade magazine.

“David gave me the two greatest gifts on the planet,” she said. “I don’t know how I could ever hate him. We’ve always loved each other, and we adore these kids. I understand things can get messy, and we’ve had those moments, but the kids are too important. He’s a good guy.”

Duchovny echoed her sentiments in the same interview, saying they’ll “always be connected and be there for each other.”

While he’s always cherished his role as a father, Duchovny has admitted to struggling with feelings of inadequacy due to his demanding acting career. In a June 2024 interview with People, he reflected on the challenges.

“Maybe I was a good parent, because my kids are great people,” he said. “They probably want to think of me as a good parent, too. I’ve made mistakes, we all have, but I try to give myself more of a break.”

He added, “It’s also cool to model a person who’s engaged with their own life for a kid. It might not be best to devote your entire existence to your child either. I don’t know the road I didn’t take, I only know the one I did. I’m definitely not a perfect parent, but I love my kids. I love them so, so much.”
