A photo of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is making waves online, not for a speech or a political moment, but for jumping in to help with a dead car battery near the U.S. Capitol.
The car belonged to Evan Hollander, an aide to Rep. John Larson. When his battery died, instead of calling AAA, he got a hand from AOC herself. Her chief of staff snapped a photo of her working under the hood, posting it with the caption: “When your car battery expires on the Capitol plaza, instead of calling AAA you just need @AOC.”
The moment quickly went viral, racking up millions of views and plenty of commentary.
Supporters applauded her for stepping in, calling her faster than roadside assistance and praising her hands-on attitude. Some critics, however, mocked Hollander for not knowing how to use jumper cables and questioned whether the moment was staged.
Others joked about Capitol Police officers standing nearby while AOC handled the situation, calling the photo “peak beta male starter pack.”
